We're looking for two individuals to join our Trustee Board in September 2024!
We are seeking to appoint two Trustees to our board ahead of our AGM in September. Whether you are an experienced legal professional or someone with lived experience, we want to hear from you. We strongly encourage applications from female and BAME candidates, although we welcome applicants from all backgrounds.

Potential Trustees must be available on 25 September 2024 for appointment at our Annual General Meeting.
As a prospective Trustee, you may have skills or experience in one or more of the following areas:
Legal Professional
Governance
Marketing
Fundraising
Finance
HR

Who are we looking for?
Strategic vision; good, independent judgement
Ability to cooperatively work with the whole team of trustees and with volunteers
Skills and ability to listen, even to differing views
Skills to analyse proposals, examine their strategic consequences and make concise recommendations as part of the trustees’ team
Willingness to speak your mind and appropriately challenge other trustees and volunteers where necessary.
Commitment to the organisation; willingness and ability to devote the necessary time & effort*.
Ability to think creatively
Willingness to be available to volunteers for advice and enquiries on a scheduled or ad-hoc basis
Understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship
Have a passion for promoting and challenging the stigma regarding Neurodiversity in the legal profession, as well as our other aims and objects.
Have a strong understanding and/or lived experience of neurodivergence.
*The expected time commitment is approximately 8 hours per month, which includes a monthly trustee meeting, the AGM, and a half-day strategy meeting. Meetings can be in person, hybrid or on Zoom and are arranged to suit everyone’s availability.
What will you be doing?
At Neurodiversity in Law, our trustees are at the organisation's centre. All trustees currently assist in the charity's day-to-day management, including administration, marketing, project management and so on. All Trustees are responsible for managing a small number of volunteers as their first point of contact.

What difference will you make?
As part of our board, you will help to deliver on our aims and objectives, ensuring that Neurodiversity in Law is carrying out its purpose and complying with its governing document and the law. This is an important role in helping to raise awareness, provide support and reduce the stigma surrounding neurodiversity in the legal profession. The trustees are a collective body, with everyone equally responsible for all aspects of the organisation's governance.

Where: The majority of our work is done online from home. However, there are opportunities to participate in events and meetings face-to-face.
Time Commitment: Mostly outside office hours, 8 hours per month.
