Last week, we held our Annual General Meeting where we celebrated our achievements and discussed future plans.
As we reflect on the past year, we remind ourselves of our mission to build an inclusive and diverse legal system that does not just tolerate neurodiversity, but a system that actively embraces it.
A Year of Milestones
The past year has been a significant turning point for Neurodiversity in Law. Here are some of our key achievements:
Community Engagement: Manned a stall at the Pupillage Fair 2023, hosted a panel event at Harney’s, and our own webinar on tips and tricks for pupillage applications;
Charity Status: Gained official charity status on 29th April 2024;
Neurodiversity Celebration Week (March 2024): ‘No mind left behind.’ which saw us hosting an in-person panel event giving tips and tricks for practitioners at the bar, as well as Neuroconnect, our first in person social event for members;
Essay Competition: Launched in June 2024, we congratulated our two winners Colinette and Maddy whose essays will be featured in our first edition of The Journal!
Team Growth: Welcoming two new trustees Richard Gerrard, and Sophie Stevens, and 21 volunteers who will help support the organisation.

We are also looking at refreshing our Partners and Champions Scheme as well as working closely with BDABar (Bringing [Dis]Ability at the Bar) to provide a full response to the BSB’s proposal to introduce a new equality duty.
We will also be attending the Bar Council’s Pupillage Fair in October 2024 and hope to see some of you there!
As we conclude this remarkable year, we want to express our heartfelt thanks to our members. Your continuous support has been the driving force behind our mission. We're excited about the possibilities that the coming year holds and look forward to your continued engagement in creating a more inclusive legal profession.
